Hi there! My name is Luis—just Luis, and no, it’s not a nickname! 😄
I’m 45 years old, a cinematographer, happily married, and the proud father of two wonderful kids: Dr. Jennifer, 23, and little Luis Ángel, who’s 11.
I began my journey in photography at the age of 19, and now, over 26 years later, I’m still as passionate as ever about capturing real, meaningful moments. In 2012, shortly after the birth of my son, a new creative chapter began with the founding of Dreams Gate Films. It was then that I chose to specialize in wedding cinematography and documentary-style photography — my two greatest artistic passions.
To me, a wedding isn’t just an event. It’s a story that deserves to be told with the visual language of cinema and the heartfelt perspective of someone who seeks authenticity. That’s the spirit behind everything I create — timeless, emotional, and real.
“Experience as a Cinematographer”
As a photographer, I’ve had the chance to shoot just about everything — from photojournalism and sports to portraits, architecture, and real estate. If it involves a camera, I’ve probably done it.
However at weddings, That’s where I found my true calling.
I chose to specialize in this world of emotion and culture, and I’ve been lucky enough to photograph all kinds of weddings right here in Cancún — a place where love brings people together from every corner of the world.
Over the years, I’ve documented deeply meaningful ceremonies: Jewish, Hindu, Persian, Iranian, Catholic, and Christian weddings, as well as symbolic Mayan-style ceremonies and same-sex weddings. Each one is unique, filled with its own rituals, colors, and beautiful energy.
What I love most about this work —besides photography itself— is the chance to experience different cultures, traditions, and belief systems. And okay… my second favorite part? Trying food from all over the world!
But nothing compares to witnessing firsthand that love is truly universal, no matter the language, race, or religion.
